'Two Years Is A Long Time In The Life Of A Masterpiece Like Kinmel Hall'
The Video On The Left Was Taken In 2019 From The Parkland That Forms The 'Setting' To This Grade 1 Listed Piece Of Welsh Heritage.
It Shows The Flat Areas Of The Roofs Intact And The Mansard Roofs With Their Slate And Lead Untouched.
The Video On The Right Is One Of A Series Of Films Taken For The Auction In 2021 And It Shows The Lead And Felt Taken From The Roofs In That Two Year Period.
'ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES'
Wales Is Renowned For Her Weather - Both Good And Bad!
From Days Where The Sun Is Cracking The Flags To Days Like Sunday 25th February 1990 Where The Rain That Day Led To The Towyn Floods!
With Kinmel Hall Not Having Her 150 Year Old Roofs Intact These Videos show A Small Amount Of The Damage Done To Her Architectural Fabric.
An Already Dire Situation Was Exacerbated By The Elements - Similarly To The Additional Damage Sustained Following The Fire In 1975 When The Pipes In The Empty Hall Froze Christmas 1975 And Burst Flooding The Hall All Over Again
The Friends Of Kinmel Hall Want To Stop This From Getting Any Worse With The Assistance Of Agencies Who Specialise In The Restoration and Conservation Of Heritage Assets Such As This.
