We very much doubt that we need to tell - or ask - you how much that amazing piece of architecture in North Wales means to us all.
In 2011 Kinmel Hall was purchased by absentee landlords in the form of
ACER PROPERTIES LIMITED
Who were registered in the British Virgin Islands and their UK REPRESENTATIVES and it has been these people we had been aiming all our actions towards.
Whilst they are responsible in part for the current condition of the Hall. We were informed by a new contact in 2020 that the body we should have been going after - who have a legal obligation to look after the Hall but have not done anything constructive to resolve the situation -
is
Conwy Borough Council.
So, we started directing our actions towards getting the Council to take their legal responsibilities seriously and take positive action towards securing the future of the Hall and stop accepting the repeated excuses of the owners.
The Council have the powers to force the owners to take action but have not bothered to use them.
Events took an unexpected turn when, with very little warning, the Overseas Owners put the Hall up for Auction in May 2021, selling her for £950,000.00 to a local businessman from Llandudno.
Sadly, the situation has not improved since that sale and the Council still refuse to take action to save this architectural masterpiece.
If you have not already joined the Friends of Kinmel Hall then please do so as soon as you can.
We already have letters of support - Copies of which can be seen HERE.
