At a meeting of the House Games Committee, held on Monday, March 12th, 1934, it was resolved that full details of the Cross-Country Run course should be published officially. The Hon. Secretary of the Committee was asked to discuss the course with the three Running Captains and to decide all doubtful points.
The following course will in future be strictly adhered to : -
Start.-Outside the Main Gates, from a line placed parallel to the wall of the Fore- court and 10 yards distant from the wall ; the starting line to extend on either side of the road way. Before the start of any Cross-Country event, the Captains of the competing teams shal draw for positions at the start. All runners shall keep to the left of the "Coronation Oak " and shall converge on to the roadway at or before the Cross-roads.
Follow the roadway as far as the Beech Tree - running on the grass verge to
be permitted. There will be two flags between the Cross-roads and the Beech
Tree - one placed on the right of the course at the first main bend, and the other on the left of the course at Pickwell's corner.

Round the flag at the foot of the Beech Tree and proceed by any route at will up to the Reservoir, where two flags will be placed, one at a distance of ten yards before the first of the clump of trees on the right of the course and the other opposite the furthest of the trees so as to keep clear of overhanging branches ; both these flags are on the right of the course.

The next flag shall be placed on the right of the course at the Fallen Tree from which runners will proceed downhill to the San. Corner, where two flags will be placed, both on the left of the course-one at a distance of two yards from the gatepost on the left of the course and the other flag on the further comer of the road leading to '' The Kennels."
The course now runs along the roadway towards St. George Gates; running on the grass verge will here be permitted as far as a flag which will be placed on the end of the tongue of grass between the" Speedway" and the St. George Drive. Cross the drive and run downhill towards the Soldiers' Pond on the further corner of which there will be a flag placed on the right of the course.
Proceed at will across the Playing Fields ; run below the bracken, at the lowest comer of which a flag will be placed on the right of the course. Run uphill to the St. George Drive, bear left and follow the roadway ; a flag will be placed on the right of the course below the clump of trees and another, also on the right of the course, at the Cross-roads, where the course turns right into the finishing straight.
Running on the grass verge will be permitted, but the actual finish will stretch across the roadway, between the two sinks immediately outside the Main Gates.

The flag at the finish will be on the right of the course.
